Professor Javed Ghulam Hussain

Viting Professor in Entrepreneurial Finance

Professor Hussain completed his PhD (1996) and M. Soc. Sci (1987) in Money, Banking and Finance from the University of Birmingham and a first degree in Economics, BA (Hons) From Birmingham Polytechnic (1985). Currently, Professor Hussain supervises a number of PhDs in the areas of corporate, micro and small business finance. He also takes postgraduate courses on Research Methods and International Financial Strategy. Professor Hussain held posts in finance within public and private sector organisations. He was financial analyst with the Forward Trust Group (now a subsidiary of HSBC bank) and prior to that he worked for Birmingham City Council. He has collaborated on a number of research projects funded by public sector clients. He has published extensively on issues of bank finance for SMEs with a particular focus on ethnic firms and has co-authored papers and chapters in a number of journals and books. He is currently co-editing Reading in Entrepreneurial Finance book with Dr Jonathan Scott. Furthermore, he is conducting collaborative research on differences in entrepreneurship and SME financing between developed and developing countries. In particular, considering the issues of SMEs within the Malaysian context.

Dr Ruben Richards

Chairman and Senior Lecturer in Leadership

From  factory worker to Deputy Director-General of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, Dr Ruben Richards has seen and been a part of it all.  He completed four degrees in three different countries finishing with a doctorate (PhD) majoring in Old Testament Studies. Ruben’s professional and academic career has been multidisciplinary and multifaceted, serving in executive and leadership positions in Government, Private Sector Business, Higher Education institutions, and the Faith Community. Using the skills and knowledge that he has gathered he strives to accomplish his dream of facilitating an integrated and holistic societal healing. Professor David A. Kirby

Visiting Professor in Entrepreneurship & Educational Standards Consultant

Professor David A. Kirby has worked in the field of Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management for 36 years. Apart from undertaking research that has had relevance for practitioners and policy makers, he has had responsibility for both industrial liaison and technology transfer in two of the 6 UK universities, in which he has been employed. His last appointment was at the British University in Egypt, where he was Vice President with responsibility for Enterprise and Community Service.  In his last UK appointment, he was responsible for setting up and managing a pre-incubator on the Surrey Research Park, as well as developing entrepreneurship degree programmes at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Anneme Coetzee

Head of Coach Training and NLP Programmes

Anneme Coetzee, is the head of Coach Training and NLP Programmes at GEBS and the owner of Accelerated Excellence. She is passionate about helping individuals to understand themselves so that they can achieve personal excellence. As an International Neuro Linguistics Trainer, she provides support to enhance the skills, resources and creativity that her clients already have – and challenges assumptions and thoughts that are blocking or disabling them from moving forward. Anneme began her career in the financial sector and within two years, was entrusted with managing blue-chip clients and overseeing multi-million rand accounts. As a respected Relationship Manager at Imperial Bank, Anneme worked with high-level decision makers and stakeholders and this exposure and experience has positioned her as a credible and well-informed professional Coach. She has a sound understanding of organizational challenges, the systems and processes of the business environment and the complexities which working with people across functions, locations and levels can bring.

Dr Frances Ekwulugo

Visiting Lecturer in Public and Private Sector Management

Dr Frances Ekwulugo is a Member Academy of Marketing Chartered Member of Chartered Institute of Marketing Trainers of the Financial Services Fellow of the Institute of Higher Education Fellow of European Entrepreneurship Educators Programme Frances Ngozi Ekwulugo is a Senior Lecturer in Marketing. She obtained her Masters degree in Management from the University of Kent and a PhD in Management from the University of Hull. Before venturing into academia, Dr Ekwulugo had extensive experience in both private and public sectors in the UK and overseas.

Dr Ainurul Rosli

Senior Lecturer in Innovation and Strategic Management

Dr Rosli Specialties: Innovation management, university-industry relationship, entrepreneurship, knowledge transfer, collaboration , co-creation, entrepreneurial ecosystem. In previous roles, Dr Rosli was co-Director for MSc Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Enterprise Development at the University of Westminster. I also had worked in University of Wolverhampton and Birkbeck University of London, where I gained my PhD in 2013.  I have an MSc in Operational Research from London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), and a Bachelor in Financial Engineering (Hons) from Multimedia University, Malaysia. My previous professional experience includes various entrepreneurship, strategy and innovation consulting work in London and abroad. I also have worked for several years with the R&D arm of a telecommunication company in Malaysia.

Dr Jane Cheng

As a seasoned Senior Lecturer and passionate researcher, Dr Chang has worked at some of the top universities in the UK, including the university of Westminister and University of Buckingham. Jane is a founding director of GRITse, a social enterprise which seeks to empower aspiring entrepreneurs to take control of their lives and contribute to their wider communities through social innovation. A visionary leader who incorporates social innovation and practical entrepreneurship education in everything she does, Jane brings together an impressive eclectic mix of skills and experience. She has previously initiated six entrepreneurial ventures and is a specialist scholar of cognitive entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship education with a passion for bridging academia with real world impact.
